If you're on this blog then you obviously have a good idea about how hard it is to find Miley Cyrus concert tickets. Generally when she goes on tour, her concerts sell out within minutes. This has caused a lot of scalpers to make a good living off of parents looking to get their "tweeners" to their first star struck encounter.

There is an essay contest, however, that is giving away Miley Cyrus tickets. All you have to do is write 300 words about how much you deserve the free tickets. Parents have been really liking the contest because not only is it free, but it at least gets their kids thinking creatively.

Smart girl, that Taylor Swift. I wonder, how many other artists have the wherewithal to even think about the vendors who sell souvenirs to fans at the venues they perform in? How many entertainers are professional enough to perform soundchecks on TIME and are committed to providing a fantastic show? Apparently Kenny Chesney is, and perhaps Taylor Swift is as well.

Should anyone come across any other quotes from musicians/artists/entertainers regarding how they prepare for a show, please forward them to me.

In March, the world was treated to performances by Katelyn Jolley, a Country music girl who won the second installment of "Music City Madness," an online contest sponsored by Country Music Television.
More than 4 million votes were cast in the final stage of the contest, in which Jolley overcame runner-up Macy Van Arnam, a 16-year-old from Ogdensburg, N.Y.

The announcement came Dec. 11 that Jolley's performance of her song, "This Game," landed her the most votes in the contest.

Jolley is in Nashville, Tenn., this week to claim her grand prize and on Wednesday recorded an episode of "Unplugged at Studio 330," CMT.com's online performance series, which has featured such country greats as Taylor Swift and Trisha Yearwood.

"It's been awesome so far," Jolley said during a phone interview Thursday.

Starting at 9:30 a.m., she recorded four of her songs: "This Game," "Out of Time," "Daydream" and "Shadow" in a typical television studio.

Following her performances, she recorded an interview, which dealt with inspiration for her songs and her journey in the contest.

Though a specific date hasn't been scheduled yet for the "Unplugged" episode to be posted online, it will be sometime in March, said Amanda Murphy, CMT spokeswoman.

Jolley's fans can find "Unplugged" at www.cmt.com and click on the "Music" link.

She started Wednesday afternoon with an interview for CMT Radio and at 2 p.m. claimed the other portion of her grand prize, a 30-minute audition with a Sony BMG executive.

Jolley said she performed a newly written song, "December," .

Sara Evans was the subject of a very public divorce last year, but now she's found love again and is engaged to marry.

Former Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Jay Barker is the object of Sara's affection, and the two plan to tie the knot, according to People.com, though no specific wedding date has been announced.

"The couple are enjoying their engagement and look forward to their upcoming nuptials,".

Sara, whose divorce from Craig Schelske was finalized in September, began dating Jay prior to Thanksgiving. Taylor: OK, story time: It's my best friend's 18th birthday on April 4, and that falls on a day when I'll be on tour with Rascal Flatts! So we had an early birthday party, and I made her this DVD of all of our random stupid videos that we've taken over the past year. I got her a bunch of her favorite bands' T-shirts and hoodies AND a tiara. Then we proceeded to dress up in our old prom dresses and put on long gloves and bunny slippers and tiaras and go out to our favorite Chinese food restaurant. We were a little overdressed. As you can see from the photo.
